caps for sale! (updated)

(originally published 4/08/12)

i think hats are dreadful. my mum keeps trying to get me to wear hats. she says that i really need to wear hats to protect my skin and my eyes. sometimes if i'm out in the sun for a bit and my mum puts a hat on me, i'll keep it on. but if she puts a hat on me when i'm inside, i pull that thing right off! hats inside? what's the purpose in being uncomfortable unnecessarily?! this is not to say that i'm always agreeable when it comes to wearing a hat outside, either, but i'm definitely more likely to keep a hat on if it is actually serving a purpose. PLEASE NOTE: my mum keeps me bathed in 50 SPF sunscreen, so please don't worry over my skin just yet. it's OK to worry over my eyes, but my parents are hopeful that i'll be able to regularly wear hats and/or sunglasses soon. if not, then daily-wear UV contact lenses are on my birthday wish-list.

i'll be adding old and new photos of myself in hats, so return often. i keep hearing about this book "caps for sale" that my mum knew as a child. she says she recalls quite vividly the colors of the illustrations. i really should find my local library and see if they have a copy. MAYBE THEY HAVE A STORY-TIME LIKE MY MOM USED TO GO TO AT THE BEXLEY LIBRARY!!!!
