Medicaid is Us....

Lemme just tell you that nothing makes you feel more ghetto than going to the drs office when you have Medicare. Especially when they cancel your appt for "unexpected renovations," and you come to find that "renovations" was actually huge water damage issues... bc the doctors office is in the basement of a low-income condo building that had some major drainage issues. Sigh. 

Happy Fourth of July

Ma and I learned on CBS this Morning that the intention was always for our independence to be celebrated on July 2 (see Adams' letter to his wife Abigail dated July 3, 1776). We contend that we should, therefore, henceforth begin our celebrations on July 2 and continue through July 4. PROBLEM SOLVED.

Anyway, here I am thoroughly enjoying my first ever 4th of July parade. We were in Takoma Park, MD, a very artsy and creative/liberal community, and I had lots of fun watching the spectacle from my aunt/bubbie Riki's and uncle/grandpa Milan's front yard on the wonderful Carroll Street. (Picture followed by video.) *The nursery school referenced in the video is the local Takoma PArk nursery school, not my/my ma's preschool....

well, what else would i be expected to do once i saw what was ahead?!

this was a WONDERFUL day! today i met kobelco. he and i will hopefully see each other quite often this summer as the water main is being repaired over by dennis ave and the creek. mom says that if the summer gets too hot, we won't see him too much. here's hoping for a cold front coming in! not only so i get to take walks (runs!) to see my new pal, but so that he doesn't bake in the heat--he's stored with no shade. next to all those huge trees, but no shade for kobelco.
